| All fan drives of air-cooled heat exchangers are equipped with vibration cut-out switches. API Standard 661, 5th Edition, March 202, entitled "Air-Cooled Heat Exchangers for General Refinery Service" recommends: "One readily accessible, double-throw, two-contact vibration cut-out switch shall be provided for each fan driver unit if specified by the purchaser. Vibration cut-out switches shall be of the manual, externally reset type not requiring dismantling of the switch for resetting and shall have sensitivity adjustment." The VS2Ex of the F.W.Murphy VS2 series vibration switch is being used in the majority of all air-coolers. Other models are the Robertshaw 365 or the Bentley Nevada 330500 Velomitor®. |
